The Jonathan Law boys basketball team lost its season opener to Shelton High, 83-43, at the James Richetelli Sr. Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
“Shelton came in focused and were mentally and physically prepared,” said Law coach Tim Dooley. “They made basketball plays throughout and we missed a lot of layups.”
Shelton took a 16-10 lead after one quarter and extended it to 47-25 at the half, behind a balanced scoring attack.
Law was led by Dylan Vienneau with 10 points, Louis Birks with nine, Tariq Dawson with eight and Kevin Wall with six.
Casey Belade scored 13 points, Mike Davis 12 and Patrick Murphy 10 for the Gaels.
