Bob Notholt scored 19 points and the Foran High boys basketball team turned back Jonathan Law, 54-43, at the Edna Fraser Gymnasium on Jan. 4.
Coach Tim Swaller’s Lions are 3-3 and coach Tim Dooley’s Lawmen are 1-4.
“We needed to get some touches inside in the second half, and then we knocked down shots from the perimeter,” Swaller said.
The game was tied at 18 at the half, and Notholt’s three-point play off a rebound gave Foran the lead for good at 23-20.
Dylan Vienneau’s 3-pointer, one of his 20 points, brought Law within 31-27 with 3:03 left in the third period.
Matt Gomes answered with a 3-pointer for Foran, and Law turned the ball over on 6-of-7 possessions.
The Lions led 34-29 to open the final period, and Foran scored on 5-of-6 trips down court early in the canto to go on top 44-33 on a pair of Notholt free throws.
